There's an upcoming celebrity softball game benefiting Folds of Honor and some of the show realized that Lunchbox and Morgan had not been announced as participants this year.
Eddie initially brought up seeing a billboard promoting the event and planned to joke about Lunchbox not appearing on it since he's "so famous," assuming he was already playing in the game. Lunchbox then revealed he had not been invited at all. Lunchbox noticed player announcements on the organization’s Instagram page but had not seen his name included anywhere. He explained that he thought the posts were revealing who had been invited to participate. Morgan confirmed she had not been invited either. She anticipated it because they had participated for several years already and assumed organizers were rotating in bigger celebrities.
Lunchbox expressed frustration over what he described as years of being treated like an afterthought. He pointed out that he and Morgan host the organization’s winter formal fundraiser event each year as emcees, but he still was not contacted about the softball game. Bobby and the rest of the show questioned whether Lunchbox’s previous frustrations with the event may have played a role. Lunchbox admitted that last year he was only asked to participate after another player canceled at the last minute. He felt he had “earned the spot of not being a replacement” after playing in the game for multiple years.
The show then discussed some of the celebrities already announced for the game, including Ashley Cooke, Danae Hays, Riley Green, Jay Cutler, Priscilla Block, and Chase Rice. Lunchbox also revisited issues he had with the event in previous years. He recalled arriving one year without a jersey or designated setup while other participants had personalized lockers and gift bags waiting for them. Lunchbox said organizers had to figure out which team he belonged to after he arrived. He also remembered being asked another year to serve as an in-game host and crowd hype announcer instead of solely playing in the game. He declined because he wanted to focus on participating as a player. When Bobby asked if organizers may have been upset about that decision, Lunchbox admitted it was possible.
Amy jokingly suggested organizers may have been concerned after hearing Lunchbox’s recent story involving a testicle injury. Lunchbox dismissed the idea and said organizers “know better.” Near the end of the conversation, Lunchbox jokingly suggested he may skip hosting the organization’s winter formal fundraiser because his “email does not work that time.” Despite his frustration, Lunchbox admitted he would “probably” still accept an invitation if organizers asked him to be a last-minute replacement player again this year.
