The Super Bowl may have long dismissed country music as viable halftime entertainment, but the NFL knows that in Dallas, you have to roll differently - which is why Dolly Parton was the halftime entertainment for the Thanksgiving Day Cowboys/Commanders matchup, and Dolly did not disappoint; from flat-out rocking a Dallas Cowgirls outfit to a three-song medley that included her classics "Jolene" and "9 To 5."
And in case you thought she's miss an opportunity to promote what she's been doing lately, she wrapped the performance with her version of Queen's "We Are The Champions," one of the many rock cover versions included in her recently released "Rockstar" album. Though, to put her own spin on the classic, Dolly reversed the order, starting out with the more mellow "We Are The Champions" before closing out the performance with the stomp-stomp-CLAP of "We Will Rock You." Take note, NFL: Dolly showed country performers can still take the big stage at halftime and deliver.
