It's been all about Adele lately and if you didn't love her before, you can't help but love her now after her heart warming reunion with her former English teacher.
Adele performed Sunday night at the London Palladium for “An Audience With Adele,” where she performed songs from her newly released album "30," and answered audience questions. The star studded attendees including Hannah Waddingham, Dua Lipa, Emma Thompson and more. Thompson asked Adele at one point if she could recall "someone who kind of supported you, inspired you or sort of protected you from all the trials and tribulations of life and inspired you to go on?”
Adele began to explain there was an English teacher she had in middle school, Miss McDonald, who really had a lasting impact on her. When Thompson inquired further, asking of they two kept in touch, Adele said, “No, she left when I was in year eight. It was just one year, but she got me really into literature. I’ve always been obsessed with English, and obviously now I write lyrics, but she also did street dance. I was too scared to join, but in the canteen they used to do these dances and stuff like that. But yeah, she just um, she was so bloody cool, so engaging and she really made us care and we knew that she cared about us and stuff like that. She used to have all these gold bracelets on and gold sequins and I don’t know, she was just bloody cool and so relatable and likable that I really looked forward to my English lessons.”
It was at that point Thompson revealed Miss McDonald was actually there in the audience, and as Adele's former English teacher started making her way to the stage, Adele promptly burst into tears. See the sweet exchange between the two below!
