Jeni’s Ice Cream teamed with Dolly Parton for a new ice cream flavor, Strawberry Pretzel Pie and last week it went on sale and fans were so anxious to get it, the demand caused the store’s website to crash.
Due to that, Jeni’s announced that they’ve decided to re-release the ice cream at a later date. They apologized for the problems fans encountered, and insist they will give folks 48-hours notice before the ice cream goes on sale again. The flavor features “layers of salty pretzel streusel, subtly sweet and effortlessly tangy cream cheese ice cream and lipstick red strawberry sauce." Proceeds will go to Dolly’s Imagination Library.
And that's not all, while many people weren't able to get their hands on Dolly's ice cream, at least one person who did is trying to make some money off it. Someone actually tried selling a pint for $1,000 on eBay, but didn't get any takers. Some people who were selling their pint for $35 did though.
