Midland Once Turned Down An Offer From Tim McGraw & Here's Why

Yes, you read that right.

Up and coming country trio Midland once had to turn down a request from Tim Freaking McGraw. Yes, that Tim McGraw, country superstar Tim McGraw.

Midland recently caught up with CMT Radio's Cody Alan and revealed back in 2017 when Tim & Faith were on their Soul2Soul tour together, the band had to turn down a performance invite from the country icon himself, but turns out it was for good reason.

"We just flew in from doing four dates with Tim & Faith up in Canada. Tim asked us to come on stage and sing “Dixieland Delight” with him like we did in Edmonton, and we had to tell Tim McGraw “NO,” says lead singer Mark Wystrach. “We said, no, because we had to drive 3 hours to Regina. We can say that because it’s a real place,” Cameron Duddy adds.

“With six guys, four guitars, and suitcases. It was ridiculous. Then, to catch a red-eye, which wasn’t really a red-eye because we had to connect in the middle of the flight and go through customs in Toronto,” says Mark. “So, I would sleep for an hour, get off the plane, go through customs, try and sleep for like an hour. It’s the age-old tale of musicians. We aren’t complaining.”

On the plus side, the band says they have a great relationship with the country music power couple, calling them a "class act."
