Laurie's Interview with Peter Vronsky, Author of "American Serial Killers"

Peter Vronsky is not only a good writer, he’s an historian too. He’s written several books on serial killers includingSerial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters and Female Serial Killers: How and Why Women Become Monsters. But I talked with him recently about his latest book, American Serial Killers: The Epidemic Years 1950-2000. We talked about everything from how people become serial murderers to why there are more women in that category than you might think. There’s also some interesting new research on how head injuries can impact the potential for a person to kill in someone. We talked about why women are more interested in this subject than men, (Peter says he has far more women readers), I asked if maybe it was because women are more often prey to serial killers than men so we want to know what to look for. He says that serial killers are rare and that governments are the biggest serial killers by far. If you’d like to listen in on our conversation you can. If you decide to read his book I will warn you that it is very graphic, I had to skim thru several sections that gave me more gruesome details than I thought would be good for me to take in.
