Carrie Underwood’s new holiday album “My Gift” drops today and she’s found even more ways to bring holiday cheer to her fans. The singer just announced she’ll star in an exclusive holiday special for HBO Max.
The special will have Carrie performing songs from “My Gift,” including originals and holiday classics, and will feature a live orchestra and choir.
“The journey of writing and recording this album started last year when I finished my tour and we could have never anticipated the circumstances we would be in this year,” Carrie shares. “Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I’m thrilled to get to share it with the world and to bring it to life with Playtone and HBO Max.”
The special is expected to air sometime this holiday season.
Meanwhile, Carrie stopped by Today earlier this week to talk about her new holiday album, which features a cameo by her five-year-old son Isaiah on “Little Drummer Boy.” Carrie says recording it made her feel like the “proudest mom in the world,” and she even felt a little bit like a “stage mom.” “I was in the booth with him and trying to get him to access all of his little 5-year-old emotions, which he can totally do on his own,” she shares. “He was just so expressive! When I heard the song back, with his sweet little voice on it, I was laughing and crying and just so many emotions.”
