Riley Green has a lot to celebrate these days. Last Friday his new EP, If It Weren’t For Trucks, came out and recently he found out that he won the Academy of Country Music’s, New Male Artist of the Year Award. He’ll be performing on the award show tonight from the Ryman Auditorium, his song, I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died, you can watch it all on CBS. Riley is a humble, down to earth guy who loves the fact that Billboard recently said of him, “for those missing traditional country songs, Riley Green is the answer.” We talked about what it was like growing up in Alabama around his close-knit family, what his grandpa Buford taught him and what he’s been doing with his time off during the pandemic. He is a delightful guy, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to listen in on our conversation.
