Most parents are proud of their kids, that comes as a surprise to no one. Over the years I have shared a lot of stories about my kids on my morning show, I’ve always been careful that I didn’t cross a line and embarrass them about anything but they are one of my favorite topics in general. So if you’d indulge me for a couple of minutes I thought I’d tell you about something kind a cool that has to do with my son Taylor.
Taylor has always been good working with wood, even when he was a kid he would make his wagon into something more exotic by adding things to it. He once built a casket for one of our dogs who had suffered with pneumonia and we weren’t sure she was going to make it. She did live for two more years so we used the casket as a table until she died, it really was beautiful. A few years ago Taylor got his first house which I think he looks at as one big project. He put up some shelves in his entrance way made out of old wood that was scrapped and recently he refurbished an antique table that we used to have at our house when he was growing up. He has a whiskey collection that is displayed in his dining room on some old wooden planks that he cleaned up. Recently someone from Baltimore Magazine took notice of his work so in their current issue you can see a picture of his dining room and read a little about it. Just a proud mom. And I’m throwing in an extra photo that wasn’t used in the magazine because that room really comes alive at night!
