The images coming from Annapolis and Sandy Point State Park this week have been heartbreaking. The areas are just covered with debris that washed into the Bay following the rain last week, and the opening of the Conowingo Dam.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is looking for some volunteer help in their efforts to clean up Sandy Point State Park. If you're available to help today and tomorrow they would love to have you. You can find details in the tweet below.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED: 2 clean-up days at Sandy Point State Park -Thursday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 4th. Both clean-up days will start at 9 am. PLEASE RETWEET: @MarylandDNR urges boaters to use extreme caution while navigating the Chesapeake Bay & its tributaries due to the large amount of marine debris which is now in the mid-bay area.
