Taylor Swift Donates Concert Tickets To Mass. Police Department

posted by @lauriedeyoung -

Last week, Taylor Swift played 3 shows at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.  But, it was an act of kindness that stole many of the headlines.

Taylor donated a "significant number of tickets" to one of her shows to the Weymouth, MA, police department.  Earlier this month, Weymouth officer Sgt Michael Chesna was shot and killed while investigating a car crash.  The department, and community, has been mourning the loss.

According to the mayor of Weymouth, Robert Hedlund, Taylor gave enough tickets to send every officer, firefighter and extended family to the concert, and then some.  But, she also did it under the radar.  They weren't looking for publicity or praise.

People can say whatever they want about Taylor, but she is one of the kindest and most generous people out there.

So wait... we get to play 2 more nights at @gillettestadium ??! Sounds fake?!? You guys were UNREAL tonight. We can’t wait to see you again, and again after that. πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹ πŸ“·: @kevinmazur @gettyentertainment
