Last night at the Golden Globes there was a lot of talk about the treatment of women related to sexual harassment and not getting equal pay. Women were showing their support for each other during their speeches and solidarity by dressing in black. Actions speak louder than words though. On the red carpet before the awards show started, reporter Natalie Morales was interviewing Jessica Biel who was nominated for her work in “The Sinner” and all she seemed to be able to focus on was Jessica’s date, her famous husband, Justin Timberlake. She kept asking him questions about his up-coming performance at next month’s Superbowl until finally he pointed out that he was at the Golden Globes to support and honor his wife for her accomplishments. Certainly this year we have talked about the need for men to value and respect women in the workplace but that goes for women too. Women, let’s do more than just talk about women’s rights let’s show equal interest in them as people.
