It used to be that the ultimate goal for any musician was to sign a record deal. Record labels can be very beneficial for an artist. They've got the money, the promotional teams and the partnerships to help an artist get heard across the world. They can offer large amounts of support, especially for an artist trying to break through. But, as the music industry continues to change and evolve, some artists are choosing to go a different route.
Miranda Lambert earlier this year announced that she was going to leave her longtime record label (Sony Music) and start her next chapter. She's finally dropped her first single as an independent artist. Miranda recruited Leon Bridges for the song 'If You Were Mine.' It's a bit of a different sound than what we've come to know Miranda for, but I really dig it. Check it out!
