I was 'this' close to going to Woodstock 99. A friend of mine had an extra ticket and invited me to go. I was super amped about it but didn't have the $300 (give or take) to pay for it. So, I didn't end up going. I was so mad. And then I watched the live footage on MTV and read the headlines and I wasn't so upset anymore. It turned out to be a colossal disaster on so many levels.
Despite the madness, I do believe the weekend did provide us with some of the greatest rock performances of all time. But they'll always be in a dark cloud from the insanity that ensued in the crowd.
Netflix is prepared to give us an inside look into the event in a new docuseries set to hit the streaming platform next month. Take a look at the trailer.
