The NFL lost one of its bright young stars in a tragic accident in Florida. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was killed early Saturday morning after he was hit by a dump truck near Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Ohio State product was drafted by the Washington Commanders but struggled under center. He had recently re-signed with Pittsburgh where he was ready to compete for a starting position now that Ben Roethlisberger is retired.
Officials say Haskins was trying to cross an interstate on foot when he was struck. It's unclear why he was walking on a freeway but there is an investigation into the situation.
