Sex And The City Star Chris Noth Accused Of Sexual Assault

Chris Noth is being accused of sexual assault. According to the “Hollywood Reporter,” the “Sex & The City” actor allegedly sexually assaulted two women in two separate incidents that happened years apart. The women have opted to remain anonymous.

  • The first reportedly happened in Los Angeles in 2004. The woman, who was working in the industry – and still does – says she ended up in the emergency room getting stitches and that the police were called. She declined, at the time to name who assaulted her, saying she feared the affect it would have on her career. “It was very painful and I yelled out, ‘Stop!’” she says. “And he didn’t. I said, ‘Can you at least get a condom?’ and he laughed at me.”
  • The second woman was a 25-year-old server in New York and in 2015, she says she waited on Noth and that he got her number and asked her out. She says that while the date was consensual, what happened at his apartment was not. Now a journalist, she still But “seeing that he was reprising his role inSex and the Cityset off something in me,” she says. “For so many years, I buried it.” She decided it was time “to try to go public with who he is.”

“The Hollywood Reporter” says they couldn’t confirm the first woman’s account of the hospitalization – because the facility doesn’t have records from 2004. As for the second, “THR” reviewed texted messages between the woman and Noth from March and April of 2015 (you can read the exchanges HERE), but they appear to confirm contact – not the type of encounter that was had. Still, they note that the women say they don’t know each other – and approached the publication months apart. Neither woman has sought criminal charges.

  • Contacted for comment, Noth denies anything non-consensual happened. “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” he says in a statement. “These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
  • Either way, Peloton has yanked the just released ad featuring Noth. “Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously,” the company offers. “We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO’s reboot. As we seek to learn more, we have stopped promoting this video and archived related social posts.”
