France takes their work breaks seriously. Did you know it was illegal to eat your lunch at your desk? Yeah, it was done so that people had to leave the office for a period of time each day. Pretty cool right? I wish we had something like that here.
But the country just reversed the decision. And not because people weren't doing their work. It's because of COVID. As workers get back into the office, people didn't really want to go out for lunch or to socialize. They want workers to get back into their routines while also feeling safe.
The lunch ban has been lifted for now, but they plan to bring it back once the pandemic is under control. You can read more HERE.
