We start every new year with the promise of new music on the way. Sometimes it lives up to expectations, sometimes it crashes and burns, and sometimes it surprises us. No matter the outcome, below are 10 albums that I'm looking forward to checking out in 2020.
(These are in no particular order)
1) Dustin Lynch - Tullahoma - January 17th
Let's start with the first one that's coming out in 2020. Dustin Lynch has quietly grown into one of the genre's next superstars. He definitely doesn't get the credit he deserves. I'm thinking 'Tullahoma' will be the record that breaks down the doors for him.
2) Kelsea Ballerini - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
From what I understand, Kelsea Ballerini's new album is ready to go! So, where is it??? I've been on the Kelsea train since day 1 and I'm ready to ride it all the way into album 3.
3) Kip Moore - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
I have to admit that I've had the chance to hear a few songs that are going to be on this album. It's amazing. I think you are going to love it when it finally comes out. I don't know exactly what day it gets released but I believe it will be available in late February or early March.
4) Sam Hunt - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
It's been almost 6 years since Sam Hunt came out and totally changed the landscape of Country music. It can be argued if the change was good or bad, but you have to acknowledge the impact he had on he genre. It's about time we are going to get a new album from him.
5) Ingrid Andress - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
Ingrid started to grab a lot of attention in 2019 when she was named iHeartCountry's On The Verge artist. 'More Hearts Than Mine' has climbed the charts and gained a lot of traction. She's released a few other songs over the last year (My personal favorite is 'Lady Like') that have been a nice warm up to her debut album set to come out in 2020.
6) Travis Denning - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
Travis Denning has been 'developing' for the last couple of years. That's a word the industry uses when they're testing out singles on the radio and haven't had a big hit yet. I think a lot of radio programmers have missed out on Travis. His first two singles have been great and hopefully 2020 brings us his debut full length.
7) Dierks Bentley - Title Unknown - Release Date Unknown
Since 2010 Dierks Bentley has put out a new album every 2 years. That means it's time for a new one in 2020. I haven't heard anything about him working on new music, but I have a feeling we will get something very soon.
8) Russell Dickerson
This one is another 'fingers crossed' release. RD put out his debut in 2017 , so it's about time he drops a new album on us. I do know there is a brand new single coming very soon, but I'm not positive about a new album. Here's hoping!
9) Gone West
If this list were in some kind of order, I'd have this one at the top. I'm such a big fan of this band. If 'What Could've Been' is our first taste of what's to come, I can't wait to hear their full length debut.
If you're familiar with Filmore, you know he's been dropping new tunes via streaming services for the last year. His latest, 'Busy,' is fantastic. His debut album set to come out in 2020 is sure to be incredible. Here's hoping he gets a fair shot on radio.
