Orioles starting pitcher Alex Cobb has had a hard fun. He got hit in the head by a baseball a few years ago while he was with the Rays. He also underwent Tommy John surgery. And now he's going back under the knife.
The Orioles announced that Cobb will undergo hip surgery this week and will be done for the rest of the season.
This so far has not been his year. He started the season on the injured list with groin soreness...and returned to the IL twice. He's only taken the mound in 3 games this season and has an ERA over 10. Hopefully this surgery can help correct whatever is wrong so he can come back strong next year.
