School Superintendent Apologizes After High School Blows Out Opponent

I've seen a lot of blowouts.  But this one might be the biggest.

The young women at East Bridgewater High School dismantled their opponents from Madison Park in the state playoffs.  The final score was 93-7.

You are reading that correct.

When it was all said and done, the superintendent from East Bridgewater issued an apology.  Elizabeth Legault called it an "unfortunate situation" and said it is not a reflection of their student body or athletic program.

I'm not one that believes in participation trophies.  You have to earn your championships.  But I do feel like the coach could've tried to slow down his team when the game was clearly out of control.  93-7 is unnecessary and demoralizing.

What do you think?  Should the superintendent have apologized?
