It's a story we know all too well here in the Baltimore area. Opioid addiction and overdoses are on the rise. Addictions to those drugs have taken so many lives and the numbers keep getting bigger.
How can we stop it? That's a good question.
According to a new study, common painkillers, such as Tylenol, work just as good at improving pain as the addictive opioids. The study found that opioids were actually somewhat inferior to common painkillers at controlling pain intensity, and had more side effects.
Wouldn't it be great if doctors would prescribe things like Tylenol instead of the opioids? Too bad they are getting paid so much by drug companies to sell their products.
