Elkton Police Are Asking For Help To Find A Vehicle Involved In A Hit-And-Run That Left A Service Dog Dead

Sometimes you have to wonder what goes on inside the mind of certain people.

Kelly Leister was outside last week, with her emotional support service dog, near her home in Elkton.  She saw a car speed down the street and called out, "Slow down!"

That's when things took a dangerous turn.

"As soon as I said that, he hit the brakes, he backed up," Kelly said.  Nervous, she grabbed her dog and started to head for her home.  As soon as she got by the car, the driver stepped on the gas and took off, hitting the dog.  The driver then left at full speed.

Police said the driver dragged the animal 400 feet before his body was found on the side of the road.  The dog died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Police are still looking for the driver.  You can get more details about the vehicle, and who to call if you have information, in the post below.
