When Walter Harris' family opened up the newspaper to find his obituary, they were caught off guard when they read what had been written. They discovered that Walter and his friends had taken the liberty of writing up the message.
"He had come to believe that people, at least in the United States, were taking themselves and their lives too seriously," said his close friend. "It wasn't meant to be an object lesson to anybody..."
Turns out, Walter even tried to use a photo of Brad Pitt instead of himself for the obituary, but the paper did not permit it.
I love his sense of humor and I hope I can do the same thing when my time comes.
