Lufthansa flight attendant HIT ceiling-7 people hospitalized after flight

Lufthansa flight 469 from Austin, Texas, was en route to Frankfurt, Germany when it hit what is being called “significant turbulence” according to a spokeman from Washington Dulles International Airport where the plane was diverted after passengers and crew were thrown around the cabin. According to reports from passengers the turbulence hit whiile the seat belt lights were OFF. The plane was hit by lightening and then was bounced around so violently that food trays and other contents were thrown all over the plane and even a crew membe along with passengers were injured.

Pilots were able to land the aircraft safely last night but not before seven people were injured. NBCWashington reports "Crews responded to the flight and took seven people to hospitals with injuries that were believed to be minor". Airbus A330 reported severe turbulence at 37,000 feet over Tennessee according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA is investigating the matter further. The story is being picked up on TV across the nation this morning.
