Video from a 1986 dive on the Titanic will be released today!

Lots of anticipation today for the release of video that few have seen so far but everyone knows about. Titanic has been nothing but a blockbuster story from it's birth through the calamitous disaster and then being turned into an award winning movie in 1997. The film was obviously immensely successful, holding the all-time box-office gross record for more than a decade after its release. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution states This rare, uncut, and mostly unnarrated footage of the wreck of Titanic marks the first time humans set eyes on the ill-fated ship since 1912 and includes many other iconic scenes. Captured in July 1986 from cameras on the human-occupied submersible Alvin and the newly built, remotely operated Jason Junior, most of this footage has never been released to the public.

NBC Washington reports "The release of the footage is in conjunction with the 25th anniversary release on Feb. 10 of the remastered version of the Academy Award-winning movie, “Titanic.” I bet alot of people are going to be watching this one. -Michael J
