The final nominees in the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION’s “55th Annual CMA Awards” brought good news for ERIC CHURCH and CHRIS STAPLETON, who lead the pack with five nods apiece. Other artists scoring multiple nominations are GABBY BARRETT with four, and BROTHERS OSBORNE, KANE BROWN, LUKE COMBS, MIRANDA LAMBERT, ASHLEY McBRYDE, MAREN MORRIS and CHRIS YOUNG with three each. Producer JAY JOYCE and mix engineer JASON HALL also each scored four nominations.
LAMBERT remains the most nominated woman in CMA history with this year’s three, taking her total to 58 career nominations. LAMBERT, COMBS, CHURCH, STAPLETON and CARRIE UNDERWOOD all scored nominations in the show’s top category, Entertainer of the Year.
Among those earning their first-ever CMA Award nomination this year are BROWN, JORDAN DAVIS, MICKEY GUYTON, RYAN HURD and DREW PARKER.
