Memorial Day Weekend has become the unofficial kick off to the summer season and we're in for a truly gorgeous weekend here in Baltimore!
If you're hitting the roads, it's going to be a tough travel weekend though. It’s actually expected to be the third busiest ever for travel, and AAA predicts over 42-million people will be traveling for the three-day weekend. With all those people on the road, you’ll want to know when the best and worst times are for those road trips.
Best times to travel by car:
- According to AAA, the lightest days for traffic will be Saturday and Sunday.
- Aside from those, AAA says the next best time to head out is today before noon.
- For your trip back home, the company says before 10a.m. Monday or Tuesday before 2p.m. or after 6p.m. are your best bets.
Worst times for car travel:
- INRIX, which provides transportation data and insights, says today (Friday) will be the busiest day on the roads.
- The heaviest traffic will be from 3p.m. to 6p.m. today.
- For return travel, Monday from noon to 3p.m., and Tuesday from 4p.m. to 6p.m. will be the most congested.
