The Ford Bronco was made famous by OJ Simpson and his wild goose chase back in the early '90s, and now Ford is releasing their new Bronco SUV, on his birthday. And they swear it's all a coincidence. Interesting.
Ford's new Bronco SUV will be unveiled on July 9th and according to Ford spokesman Mike Levine, the timing of the new Bronco's debut is “a pure coincidence.” Ford dropped the full-size SUV in 1996, two years after the Simpson-police chase but was subsequently replaced by the Ford Explorer after a myriad of rollover crashes.
While we have to wait until July 9 for a full roll out of specific features, Ford has been teasing its reappearance for months and a number of details have leaked out. The new model will be smaller than the one O.J. rode in, roughly on par with the rugged Jeep Wrangler. Like Wrangler, the 2021 Ford Bronco will offer a range of options and features such as removable doors and roof. The new Bronco is expected to start at around $30,000.
