Betcha didn't see this one coming!
The creators of the card game Cards Against Humanity are opening up a restaurant with a full menu, full bar, tons of board games (yes that includes Cards Against Humanity) and two escape rooms! You can book a reservation beginning on January 10, 2020 which includes a 2 hour time slot which allows enough time to get into whichever game you like. The creators have really thought of everything including on-site teachers that will settle disputes when they inevitably come up, and refresh your memory if you're a little fuzzy on the game details/rules.
According to Delish, one of the creators of Cards Against Humanity Max Temkin said the goal of this restaurant space is for people to connect. "We've been making games for almost 10 years now, and we've seen that games, food, and theater have an incredible capacity to bring people together and create community," he told the mag. "It has been our dream for a long time to do a really ambitious version of a game cafe and share it with people."
Now let's talk about food! Looks like the menu will have a wide variety of options including dishes with international inspiration from Mexico, Spain, and Vietnam. It won't break the bank either with most items clocking in between $14 & $60. And don't forget about the escape rooms. There will be two on site if you'd rather save the world from total annihilation, or participate in an interstellar rescue mission instead of playing a board game.
The Chicago Board Game Cafe is located in, you guessed it, Chicago, so start planning your road trip ASAP!
