Beer and chocolate lovers rejoice, a chocolate beer is on its way!
America's oldest brewery, Yuengling, has teamed up with Hershey, one of the most beloved candy companies, for a brand new Chocolate Porter Beer! The chocolate porter will be available in bars and restaurants beginning mid month but will only be available through February. Hopefully it'll be popular enough to stick around! 22 states are getting this dream collaboration including Massachusetts to Indiana, including Ohio, Virginia, and Kentucky. This collaboration marks the first in Yuengling's 190 year history, and the first licensed beer collaboration for Hershey.
According to USA Today, "Yuengling and Hershey's spent about a year developing the beer, which uses as its base the traditional Dark Brewed Porter made at the brewery since its opening. That beer, which already has hints of caramel and chocolate, is enriched with Hershey’s cocoa, syrup and nibs added during the brewing." The beer comes in at 4.7% alcohol by volume, and pairs best with desserts (duh) and cheeses, but is still just as enjoyable on its own.
