It’s been nearly seven years since the devastating shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Sandy Hook Promise, which was founded by families impacted by that tragedy, is releasing a shocking PSA that depicts students in the midst of an active shooter situation. The PSA is a chilling reminder that back to school time used to be all about new teachers and school supplies, when now, simply staying alive is top of mind for many kids.
The PSA can be difficult to watch, understandably so, but Sandy Hook Promise says this is something all families need to see. The PSA, titled "Back To School Essentials," is part of Sandy Hook Promise's "Know the Signs" campaign that looks to educate students, teachers and parents about seeing the signs of a potential school shooter and intervening before it's too late.
