Walgreens, CVS and Wegmans are among the large U.S. chains that have joined Walmart and Kroger in asking customers not to bring guns into stores. Walmart just announced they will stop selling hand guns and ammunition, and Walmart’s CEO is calling on other retailers to join in revising their policies after a string of mass shootings. Walmart is "respectfully requesting that customers no longer openly carry firearms" into its stores and Sam's Clubs locations, the retail giant said in a statement, while Kroger said its aim is to provide "associates and customers with a safe place to work and shop."
Other major companies that do not allow open carry are Whataburger, Sonic, Panera Bread, Chili's, Starbucks, Costco, Trader Joe's, Chipotle, and HEB.
