Gillette's New Ad About Masculinity Is Sparking Some Serious Conversation

Gillette's latest ad posted to their social media account highlights some of the most present issues in our culture today, including toxic masculinity, sexual harassment and the the #MeToo movement. 

The question posed in the ad, "Is this the best a man can get?" is a play on their own famous tagline.

The range of reactions are mixed, as expected, with some praising Gillette and others threatening to boycott the brand. 

"We expected debate. Actually a discussion is necessary. If we don't discuss and don't talk about it, I don't think real change will happen," Pankaj Bhalla, Gillette's North America brand director, told CNN Business. He went on to say that he hopes men who watch the video will be inspired to act like role models and show younger children how to stand up to bad behavior and treat other people with respect.
