Last week a pedestrian bridge near Florida International University collapsed killing 6 people and injuring many more less than a week after being installed. Sadly one of the victims, Brandon Brownfield, had actually just relocated himself, his wife and 3 young daughters to south Florida for an opportunity in the crane industry. Brandon had been driving home when the tragedy occurred. Brandon was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 37 in Baltimore as well as a member of a Florida chapter.
