A cold front is cutting through our area, bringing muggy heat, heavy downpours, and a solid chance of strong afternoon storms.

It’s starting off pretty standard for a mid-summer day: sticky, humid, and warm.

When to Watch Out
The main window for rough weather is between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM, right in the middle of the evening commute.
As the front moves in, expect clusters of showers and thunderstorms to build up across the region. Some of these storms could pack a punch—bringing sharp wind gusts that could knock down tree branches, brief hail, and torrential rain. Because the air is so moisture-heavy, water could pool quickly on roads and in low-lying spots, making driving tricky.

Storms should taper off later tonight into scattered showers, with temperatures dropping into the low 70s.
The silver lining? Once this system clears out by early Wednesday, we’re in for a noticeable drop in humidity. The rest of the week is shaping up much nicer, with drier air, sunshine, and highs staying comfortably in the 80s.
