Beth Kobett, Dean of Stevenson University's Online Graduate Edu. Programs

Dr. Beth McCord Kobett is a Professor and Dean in the School of Education at Stevenson University. She leads, teaches, and supports early childhood, elementary, and middle school preservice teachers. She has a diverse background as a classroom teacher, elementary mathematics specialist, adjunct professor, and university supervisor and also serves as the Director of the First Year Seminar program at Stevenson University. She recently completed a three-year term as an elected Board Member for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and previously served as president of the Association of Maryland Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMMTE).

Beth is an author of nine mathematics education books and leads professional learning efforts in mathematics education both regionally and nationally. Her contributions have earned her the Mathematics Educator of the Year Award from the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) and the Johns Hopkins University Distinguished Alumni Award. At Stevenson University, she received the Rose Dawson Award for Excellence in Teaching as both an adjunct and full-time faculty member. Beth is committed to fostering a strengths-based community for her students and works diligently to cultivate an inviting learning environment that encourages risk taking, curiosity, innovation, and positive, productive learning experiences.
