New day, new month! Here are a few things to look forward to in November...
1. Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday. So we "gain" an hour of sleep, which is fun.
2. In Sports:
*The World Series continues tonight
*The new NBA season is just getting started
*The MLS playoffs are underway
*The NASCAR Cup Series Championship is this Sunday.
3. In Movies:
*Sofia Coppola's new Priscilla Presley biopic, "Priscilla", opens wide this Friday.
*The latest Marvel movie "The Marvels" hits theaters a week later.
*The new prequel, "Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" arrives on the 17th, along with Eli Roth's new horror flick, "Thanksgiving".
*Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" with Joaquin Phoenix opens on the 22nd. Also opening, the new Disney movie, "Wish" and "Maestro" with Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein.
4. On TV: Not much because of the actors' strike. But a new "Love Island" spin-off "Love Island Games" hits Peacock today.
*Showtime's new series "The Curse", with Nathan Fielder and Emma Stone, premieres on the 10th- so does season four of "For All Mankind" on Apple TV.
*Season five of "Fargo" arrives on FX the 21st.
*For awards shows:
*The CMA Awards are next Wednesday
*The Grammy nominees get announced next Friday
*The Billboard Music Awards are November 19th.
5. The Holidays:
*Veterans Day on the 11th
*Thanksgiving on the 23rd.
A few of the less celebrated holidays...
*This Friday is National Sandwich Day
*Monday is National Nachos Day
*The 13th is World Kindness Day
*The 24th is BLACK FRIDAY
*Cyber Monday is the 27th.
