Kevin Bonecutter has set himself quite a goal. The Cincinnati man is trying to carry out 143 acts of kindness in 40 days. His first act of kindness was on June 1st, and since then he’s spent his time cutting the grass at vacant homes and businesses, picking up trash, and handing out free food. This week, he celebrated July 4th by raising money for pediatric brain tumor research and then ended the day helping an elderly man walking in the rain with a walker to get to the store and return home.
It's an incredible way to spend his time giving back to the world, but how did he decide on 143 acts of kindness? It’s because of Mr. Rogers, one of Bonecutter’s heroes. Rogers used the number 143 to say “I love you,” with each digit representing the number of letters in each word. Why is he doing it? Bonecutter says “I want to inspire other people to also say, ‘Yeah, I want to do this as well’ and let it be a ripple effect.”
