Want a shot at a free upgrade next time you fly?
To fly first class, you'd better dress first class …
It's not easy to get an upgrade if you're flying this summer, but you can boost your chances by dressing for success. According to former flight attendant Celina Bedding, you'll never, ever get moved up to a better seat if you make the mistake of wearing sweatpants, leggings or any kind of open-toed shoe -- especially flip-flops.
Those are the don'ts, but as for the dos? “For an upgrade, it’s all about looking the part. Smart but understated. You should look like you travel often. But don’t be dripping in designer clothing.”
