And now for the new kitchen appliance you never thought you needed. Japanese power tools maker Mikita has created something that will come in handy the next time you're at the beach, park, or campground and want to re-heat leftovers or make popcorn. It's a cordless, battery-operated microwave oven, and it's the first of its kind. It's powered by two rechargeable batteries and delivers 500 watts of power for up to eight minutes. It's about the size or a large lunchbox and weighs just under 20 pounds. It also comes with a strap so you could carry it over your shoulder.
