A company has created glasses that allow deaf people to read conversations with subtitles.
Using Amazon Alexa software to turn audio into closed captioning, inventor Dan Scarfe wanted his 97-year-old grandmother to be able to join in conversations at Christmas time.
“It’s got to the point now where he literally just sits in silence,” said Scarfe. “And I thought, well, hang on a second. He watches TV all the time with subtitles. Why can’t we subtitle the world?”
