Over the years, Tesla’s autopilot feature has received some criticism, but the technology is now being credited with saving a drunk driver’s life. A 24-year-old man in Norway was driving his Model S car while intoxicated and he passed out behind the wheel.
Fortunately for him, the Tesla’s autopilot system kicked in and prevented what could have been a fatal accident. The car stayed in the lane and safely prevented it from colliding with other cars. When the car detected the driver was unresponsive, it came to a stop with its hazard lights on.
Emergency services later arrived at the scene and according to the Eastern Police District’sTwitterpost, the man was “drunk, but stubbornly denies driving” even though “there is a video of him from the car.”
