Disney now allowing...dogs?

  • in a pilot program, four Disney World resorts are now welcoming dogs
  • Only two dogs will be allowed per room, they must be well-behaved, properly vaccinated and remain leashed in all public areas
  • Pet owners will have to pay pet cleaning fees ranging from $50 to $75 depending on the property, while dogs will be treated to a Pluto’s Welcome Kit goodie bag

There’s no doubt Disney World is a great family vacation, but all too often when a family heads to the happiest place on earth one member is left at home – the dog. Well, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case anymore.

In a pilot program for the theme park, four Disney World resorts are now welcoming man’s best friend, including the Yacht Club Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Of course, there are some rules that families will have to follow before Fido can come with them to Disney. Only two dogs will be allowed per room, they must be well-behaved, properly vaccinated and remain leashed in all public areas. And pet owners will have to pay for the privilege as well, with pet cleaning fees ranging from $50 to $75 depending on the property.

  • And dogs who come along will treated like a special guest just like humans. Each property is set to offer a Pluto’s Welcome Kit, that includes a mat, bowls, puppy pads, dog walking maps and more. And rooms with dogs will have a special Pluto “Do Not Disturb” sign to warn staff of animals in the room.
