Sunny Co Clothing, a clothing company that sells shirts, skirts, swimwear and fanny packs, announced May 3 that anyone in the US who re-posted an image of a model in a swimsuit and tagged Sunny Co would receive a promotional code for a discounted swimsuit ($64.99), paying only shipping and handling ($12.98).
In 24 hours (the length of the promotion), tens of thousands of people re-posted a pic, tagging the company. However, the company, headed by two University of Arizona seniors, found itself in hot water when users who entered the promo code were charged full-price.
Hundreds of dissatisfied customers have commented on the clothing company's Facebook and Instagram accounts, asking for their money back.
A spokesperson for Twazer App, which sponsored the giveway, said Sunny Co is working diligently "to make sure every customer is satisfied."
