Stacey Feeley loved taking and sharing pictures of her adorable 3 year old daughter but she could have never expected that one of her images could be in the center of political debate on gun control.
In the wake of the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, many schools had been having more frequent safety drills. When Stacey’s daughter played the ‘stand on the toilet’ game it was really a preview of what she was supposed to do if a shooter came to her school. This chilled Stacey to the bone.
Stacey just had to share the photo and the meaning behind it. After the photo went viral, the debate began. Should the US have stricter gun laws? Would stricter laws be in violation of the constitution etc.
