Dan + Shay “went rogue,” and crashed a couple’s wedding in Tennessee.
Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney shared a clip of their wedding-crashing experience at Saddle Woods Farm in Murfreesboro, outside of Nashville, on Instagram on Monday night (June 15). Smyers explained, “we had this idea. We’ve got a song called ‘Marry You Again,’ and we one day went rogue. And we’re like, ‘is anybody getting married in Nashville the next few weeks?’”
Before long, Dan + Shay got in touch with a fan’s wedding planner and were “legit crashing the wedding right now,” Smyers said. “First time ever doing this.”
Dan + Shay set the clip to “Marry You Again” as they shared a glimpse of the wedding. Smyers said afterward, “that was awesome. Emily and Seth, beautiful wedding. Beautiful people. It was so much fun.” Mooney added that the bride and groom were “very sweet people. It felt like we were in the family tonight.”
“Marry You Again” will appear on Dan + Shay’s upcoming studio album, Young, arriving later this summer. So far, Smyers and Mooney have released the title track and “Say So” from the 10-track project. They previously said Young “is by far our most personal album yet, and gives a real-time snapshot of exactly where we are in our lives,” Dan + Shay shared as they announced the record. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your patience and support while we made YOUNG. We’ve never been more proud of a batch of songs, and hope they mean as much to you as they do to us.”
Young will make its debut on August 21. After that, Smyers and Mooney will hit the road on “The Young Tour,” with Tyler Hubbard and Josh Ross on select dates. See the list of tour stops below.
