Ashley McBryde’s fifth studio record arrived on Friday (May 8), unearthing “the deepest layers of her lived experience, raw and unvarnished like never before.”

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter debuted Wild, an 11-track project that features “Rattlesnake Preacher,” “Arkansas Mud,” “Bottle Tells Me So,” “What If We Don’t,” “Lines In The Carpet” and more. Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne produced McBryde’s newest album (along with 2022’s Lindeville), and her live band, Deadhorse, recorded Wild with her, per a press release detailing the Arkansas-born artist’s fifth studio effort.

“When people hear this record, I hope it wakes up the part of them that I’m singing about in ‘Wild’—the part that still believes in those unrealized dreams and untaken risks,” McBryde said in a statement. “I believe that wild little kid is still alive inside of all of us, and that’s the version of everyone that I want to sing to.”

“From the grit and grind of growing up in the shadow of Arkansas's Ozark Mountains, to the enduring echo of her fundamentalist upbringing; the fallout of drinking too much and hard-won reckoning that led her to sobriety to the trauma passed down through her lineage. When matched with McBryde's thrilling collision of timeless country and blistering rock & roll, the result is equal parts daring autobiography and courageous reclamation of her most untamed nature.”

“Ashley McBryde is a rare gem,” Osborne said in a statement. “There are people out there with natural ability and there are people that dedicate every waking hour to honing their craft. Ashley is both. Never settling. Always reaching. The perfect combination of vulnerable and fearless.”

McBryde said when she announced Wild’s release date that she selected the title because “it really captures the attitude of everything we made. I built this record with my band, and some of the coolest, most brilliant minds I’ve ever encountered. And that is something I will be forever grateful for.” Wild follows Girl Going Nowhere (2018) Never Will (2020), Lindeville (2022) and The Devil I Know (2023). Find McBryde’s music on iHeartRadio here.
