Carrie Underwood and her family are “unharmed” following a fire at her home outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
Williamson County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the blaze on Sunday night (June 16). Officials stated that Station 21 was dispatched to a fire alarm in that district around 9:42 p.m.; however, the fire alarm call upgraded to a structure fire “almost immediately,” reads a Williamson County Fire Rescue post on Facebook. “Crews from all eight of our stations responded. Fairview fire provided a tanker and crew as well.”
The fire appeared to start in the garage, and responders “were able to knock down the fire quickly to prevent spread into the house,” according to Williamson County officials. “Firefighters continue to put out hotspots to prevent further spread. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There are no injuries at this time.”
Williamson County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Dinah Wade confirmed to the Tennessean that fire crews used a 10,000 gallon water tank to put out the fire, which appears to have been caused by an off-road UTV and spread into the garage.
Underwood and her husband, former NHL star Mike Fisher, have not publicly commented on the fire as of publication time on Monday (June 17). A spokesperson for the Grammy Award-winning country star said in a statement to Nashville’s ABC affiliate, WKRN-TV: “There was a fire on the property on Sunday night, which was quickly contained. There was no fire damage to the primary residence, and the family and their pets were unharmed.”
