Mike McKelvin is the co-founder of 1623 Brewing Company in Eldersburg, MD. 1623 Brewing started in the Baltimore Metro through a contract brewing arrangement with DuClaw Brewing in Rosedale. It allowed 1623 to build market awareness while still searching for its own place to call home. 1623 Brewing opened a 30-barrel brewery and taproom in the Liberty Exchange in Elderbsurg in February, 2020. 1623 is Maryland's 6th largest brewery and is currently undergoing an expansion effort that will lead it to be Maryland's 5th largest brewery.
