Baltimore City Eases COVID Restrictions on Restaurants, Gyms, Capacity

Beginning on Monday, Feb. 21 at 6 a.m., Mayor Brandon Scott announced that restrictions on indoor dining capacity, bars and indoor fitness classes will be lightened.

He announced in a press conference that bars and restaurants are will be permitted to increase indoor capacity to 25% and outdoors to 50%. The one hour time restriction he had placed on these establishments will also be lifted. Gyms classes may operate at at 25% occupancy or 10 people, whichever number is higher.

The following was also announced (as reported by WBAL):

Live performances are permitted as long as performers wear masks and adhere to physical distancing.
Adult entertainment remained prohibited.
Organized amateur sports, including schools, youth, recreational, clinics, skill sessions, scrimmages and practices are permitted. Tournaments and games against teams from other states are prohibited. Indoor sporting events are limited to 25% occupancy with a maximum of 50 people. Masks must be worn by all players and spectators.
